Henderson County has taken steps to modify how solid waste is handled in the county. Some of these changes include haulers offering recycling to all county residents. We have modified and purchased equipment to accommodate large scale recycling. Although we have offered recycling for some time, we were only recently able to handle large amounts of recyclable material. If you are interested in our recycling program please call the office to sign up and get additional information.

We have also had to modify some of our restrictions for pick up due to additional banned items at the transition station. These items include:

Plastic bottles, oil filters, pallets, aluminum cans, used oil, whole scrap tires, yard waste, lead acid batteries, ABC beverage containers, anti-freeze, appliances, electronics

Some of these items can be recycled but are currently banned from normal disposal at the Transition Station. We still offer special pick ups for most of these items. Please call the office to arrange for these items to be picked up.

We will also offer quarterly emailing of bills for customers who are interested in this option.

Thanks for your cooperation,
